Building Update
The deacons would like to provide an update on some of the church maintenance projects that are planned for this year. First of all we are very thankful that new flooring has been anonymously donated for the sanctuary. We are very grateful for this donation as the floor has needed to be replaced for a while now. The new flooring will be installed during the Cornfest week when we have our annual Cornfest service (August 28) to allow the crew to have enough time to complete the project. The new stage spotlights are here and will be installed shortly. The deacons have looked at many options on upgrading the sanctuary lighting but as of yet are not able to find a good light that is a good mix of durability for youth events but also provides a soft atmosphere for worship services, we will continue to look at options. Thanks to Chris Lecuyer for his help on the lighting project. We have patched the leaks in the sanctuary roof but have learned that the roofing material will need to be replaced in the next 5-7 yrs. It appears that the roof tends to leak first at the stage so we think it is wise to replace the roofing before we look at any stage upgrading or carpeting. We have had the heating and AC looked at and they are in good shape. If there are any other building needs please let me know. On behalf of the deacons |
