Dear Taber EFC family, It was a blessing to share in worship and fellowship last Sunday with so many. Thank you for your interest in the message and warm response to this idea of romance in our relationship to Christ as well as in our homes and the family at Taber EFC. May we all grow in our love for Christ and personal intimacy with Him in these days. It was so good to get to know so many of you a little bit better over the fellowship meal after the Service on Sunday. Thank you to all who organized and brought such delicious food for the occasion. I noted that many appreciated the name tags because it gave them the opportunity to get to know one another better too. And it surely did help me! Thanks. We’ll have to do it soon again. Because it was something scheduled since early last fall, Carolyn and I are on a bit of a vacation this week and early next, visiting friends in Texas. Thankfully, the weather is very nice (compared to last week!), but also not exactly tropical. But when you’re visiting friends, the weather doesn’t matter that much! In the worship service this Sunday at 10:30, Brett will be speaking on Commissioned People from Matthew 28:16-20. It’s a bit of a follow-up to his last message on experiencing joy in Christian partnership. Lyndon and Naomi Klassen will be leading worship and Kids Church will continue to explore the subjects of heroes of the faith and the importance of being courageous, self-controlled and just. At their extended time last Saturday, the Elders took time to share a little about their lives and to pray for one another. They also considered how the transition time is structured to unfold, and to consider immediate priorities. Right now, one immediate concern is to follow-up on matters that may have been concerns for people during the past year. Meanwhile, we want to ensure the development of the various ministries in the church, and we want to begin to study how the organization of the church might be improved. The elders will be meeting again when I’m back. We are preparing for the Annual General Meeting on Sunday, March 12th, and also for the Ministry Leaders Retreat on March 17th and 18th at SABC. Under the theme, Workers Together, we will look at building relationships in ministry. The church is very much in our thoughts and prayers even while we’re away. May it be a blessed time of sharing in worship and other ministries this week and on Sunday. Sincerely in Christ, Pastor Ed |
