Dear Taber EFC family, Now that we have entered Daylight Saving Time, it feels like spring is closer than ever. Soon, no doubt, we will have seen the last of these beautiful winter scenes! At least we hope so, right? This is turning out to be a very full week for me here in Taber. Besides the ministries on Sunday, I have been getting ready for the time at the church’s ministry leadership retreat at the Southern Alberta Bible Camp on Friday evening and Saturday. I understand that about 30 of us will be meeting under the theme, Working Together. I look forward to seeing the camp and spending this extended time with various ministry leaders at Taber EFC. Please pray for our gathering to be encouraging and up-building for the church. On Tuesday evening I met with the Elders Board for its regular meeting in which we considered possible members for an Assessment Team to consider the needs of the church during this transition time. I hope it will be possible for me to meet with this team of six or seven people from the church when I return for Easter weekend and the following week. The assessment will likely include a survey by which we hope to also develop a profile of the church’s future pastor. The Board has also been looking at how to address the organizational needs of the church at this time. Since much of this is defined by the church constitution, the elders are looking at possible changes to the document that would also include bylaws. A draft of proposed changes is being considered for presentation to the congregation this spring. More information will be provided soon. This week, I also very much enjoyed a visit with Rob Oudman in which he told me, not only of the amazing discipling ministry that has opened up for him and Leslee in Nicaragua, but also of how Taber EFC has had a vital part in their calling and formation to that end. It reminded me of just how vital the work of the church is in equipping people for church and kingdom ministry. This Sunday in the 10:30 Worship Service, in a message called, Church Life Blueprint, I look forward to speaking about God’s plan for the church from Acts 2:42-47. Pastor Brett will be leading worship (as well as interviewing someone from the youth ministry) and kids will be invited to class time during the message. And, appropriately, we will end the service around the Lord’s table. I hope it works out for you to share in worship and fellowship with us this weekend. Regardless, may you know God’s presence and blessing wherever the weekend finds you. Pastor Ed |

Pray for Turkey & Syria
ServeBeyond (formerly EFCCM) is partnering with a Turkish Christian relief organisation called First Hope Association. First Hope is recognized by and registered with the Turkish Government. Pray for them as they work under very difficult and dangerous situations. This group is well known in the Turkish Christian community and is specifically trained and equipped for earthquake relief. First Hope is already on site and ministering to affected people with their mobile hygiene trailers, mobile bakeries and rescue equipment with specialised search & rescue teams. |
