Galatians: Faith and Freedom

1O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified. 2Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith? 3Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh? 4Did you suffer so many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain? 5Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith— 6just as Abraham “believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”?

 - Galatians 3:1–6(ESV)

It's easy to get caught up in a treadmill of religious performace.  You judge yourself and others on the basis of what you've done, how good you are, how bad you are, or how religous you seem.

But God has saved us through faith in Jesus Christ.  We are saved to live in freedom from perfomance religion and legal slavery.  We are free to walk in the Spirit.

Our summer series in Galatians is designed to help us walk in faith and freedom: faith in Jesus that saves us and the freedom that he gives us through life in the Spirit.  We hope that you are encouraged and built up in your walk with God as we journey through this great book together.
