Taber Evangelical Free Church values the Bible.

The Bible is valued because it is God’s Word to us; words that carry the greatest weight, communicate the greatest truth, and direct us in the greatest ways as our sole authority.

There are implications stemming from this value of God's Word.

1) The Bible remains our central point for knowledge and learning
We believe that the Bible is God's Words to humanity.  It stands as a unique element in our world and in our experience.  Therefore, as a church, we remain committed to learning, studying, discovering, and exploring all that the Bible can show us about who God is, how he has accomplished salvation through his Son, and how he remains present and involved with us through his Spirit.  TEFC keeps the Bible as a primary focus of our time together.

2) The Bible shapes and informs our faith
We keep the Bible as our focus because it is God's Word - his words that tell us about himself.  As we read and study the Bible, we hear what God says about himself.  This shapes our faith in him, informing us of his character, his ways, and his actions in our lives. It is through the Bible that we hear of God's steadfast love for us.  It is through the Bible that we discover the gospel and the new life that we have in Jesus.

3) The Bible is our authority for life and discipleship.
As the Bible shapes and informs our faith, it also then provdes the authority for our lives.  Each practice, habit, and action is to submit to the authority that God expresses in his Word.  Correspondingly, we submit the life and practice of TEFC to the Bible - aiming to remain faithful to Scritpure and obedient in our conduct as a church.

We value the Bible.  We encourage you to also treasure the Scriptures because they are God's words to us.

Part of valuing the Bible is making it a part of your daily life.  We encrouage everyone to have time in the Bible every day.  Sometimes, though, we don't know where to start or how to proceed.  This is where a Bible reading plan comes in handy, helping you to hear from God in a deliberate manner.

We recommend the "Read Scripture" plan from the Bible Project.  If you would like to talk more about making the Bible a more regular voice in your daily life, please contact the church and one of our pastors would be happy to speak with you about this important component of following Jesus.
