A Note from Pastor Brett
This past week about forty of us met on Monday night for Prayer Night. It was great to be able to spend some time in worship, praying for the church, the candidating weekend and for each other. One of our Elders, Ben Dyck, challenged us on our need for prayer. He mentioned sometime people aren’t passionate about prayer because, in North America, we don’t live in a way where we need God. He encouraged us to seek God out desperately, recognizing our great need for Him. I agree with Ben and have been moved in my heart to approach prayer in a more earnest way. It’s good to have challenges and reminders in this way, of places where we may need to re-evaluate and look at things differently or through a new lens. My hope is for those who came out on Monday that you were encouraged and uplifted, while gathering and praying with brothers and sisters in Christ. And for all those who were unable, I hope you will join us next time we have a prayer night most likely sometime in March or April. This weekend, as you all know, we are welcoming Brad and Barb Cowie to Taber EFC to candidate for the role of Lead Pastor. I just once again want to remind you to pray for wisdom and discernment in this time for Brad and for TEFC as we discern God’s will for the future. Brad will preach on Sunday, and following the service we will have a potluck and a Q and A time where we will invite people to ask Brad questions. We would love if you would attend both the service and our time with him after the service. Please also scroll down to see a short bio from Brad. Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday. Upcoming:

Our Pastoral Candidate
We are excited to host Brad as our Pastoral Candidate this weekend! Brad grew up in a small Alberta town as a pastor's kid. He studied at Peace River Bible Institute and Providence Theological Seminary. He has done short term missions in Chile, Kenya/Tanzania and Hungary/Romania. Brad and his wife, Barb, met on a mission team with Venture Teams Internataional, where they served together for 2 years. They have 2 adults children, Justin and Shalise. Brad spent about 8 years in Winnipeg and 7 years in Medicine Hat in pastoral ministry before joining the faculty of Peace River Bible Institute where he has taught for the past 16 years. He currently serves as an elder and worship leaders in his local church. Brad relaxes by reading, watching sports or playing guitar and loves rousing discussions about theology.
