A Note from Pastor Brett
This week I want to send a note to remind you of our marriage night on May 5th at 6:00pm. Dave Wiebe will be here to talk about the topic of communication. We will share a delicious meal together, there will be a few door prizes and childcare is provided! Our marriages are our most important relationships next to our relationship with the Lord. Just before I was married, I was given some advice about marriage: “Study your spouse and be willing to put the work into each area of your marriage”. I have tried really hard to know and to learn all that I can about Heather. She is wonderful and yet even after a decade of marriage and knowing each other for two decades, I am still constantly learning more about her. I have also learnt both in my own marriage and in being a pastor that there may not be a singular more important topic in marriage than communication. So, I would like to personally, as your pastor, invite you to our Marriage Night, for an opportunity to grow in the topic of communication in your marriage. It’s also a great opportunity to get to know some other couples in the church as well. Heather and I will be there, and we are looking forward to hopefully seeing many of you. If you are interested in attending, please let Jenn know in the office so we can have the right amount of food. Please also reach out to Jenn or I if you have any questions. This Sunday This week we will continue our series in Romans, and we will spend time in Romans 9:30-10:21. The first part of chapter 9 spoke about God’s Sovereignty this next section will speak to our responsibility to sharing the gospel. Mat Reed will lead us in worship, and we will partake in communion together. Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday! |
A Update from Pastor Brad
PRBI Graduation was last Saturday, and I sat in my last PRBI board meeting on Tuesday, so the reality of the transition is starting to hit. So much to do and so little time! And it doesn't help that NHL playoffs have started - that's a big distraction. But we keep plugging away bit by bit, hoping our house will be packed on time and all our boxes will fit in the U-Haul.
We have applied at a possible rental place for a month to month arrangement. Pray that we would be accepted as that would be a huge item off our list and would give us some time to do proper house hunting once we're down there.
Our son Justin heads out next week. He'll be directing David Thompson Bible Camp for the summer - his third summer out there. DTBC is about an hour north of us. He'll be there until mid-September. If you think of him, pray for him. He has a mobile home on site where he can stay for the summer, but he also has some significant environmental allergies. In past years, he's been able to come home on weekends, which gets him into a bit of a cleaner environment and helps him recover a bit, but this year he will not have that luxury. So, pray that he will remain healthy this summer (and that he can find a few places to hang out on his off days).
Won't be long now until we're there.
