A Note from Pastor Brett
One of the things that has been on my mind lately is what motivates us in our faith? What motivates us to live it out? I think that’s a good question to think about periodically. Hopefully for each of us it has something to do with how great and loving Jesus is, and how much other people need to know about who Jesus is. It’s incredible to think about the fact, that the creator of the universe wants to have relationship with us. To think the one who sent his son so I could be saved wants to know my heart, my pain, my joys, and is there to help me in my struggle with sin. If I was to sit with him, what wonder would I find in his presence? What incredible insight and instruction might I find in the word with him, and what renewed purpose could come out of spending time with him? Sometimes our times with God can be motivated out of duty and rules, or even a fear that if we don’t show up to a specific event or to church that we could anger him. But this isn’t the freedom that Christ gives us. We don’t spend time daily with Jesus because it’s a duty, but because he is LIFE, and we need him. We don’t gather as a church family because we are afraid of what God would do if we missed a Sunday. We gather because we love each other and want to praise the Lord together as a family and want to be encouraged in the word together. What we allow to motivate us in relation to our faith is extremely important and gives us right perspective. This week as we finish Romans 8 we will look at what motivates us to live out our faith. How does our standing in all that God has done for us and all that we are in him, motivate us to live out our faith in our daily lives? This Sunday We will finish Chapter 8 of Romans (Romans 8:31-39), Pastor Brett will speak and Mat Reed will lead us in worship. |
Update from Pastor Brad
Brad and Barb send their thanks for all the prayers and support surrounding the sale of their house and their move to Taber.
They have a realtor who knows their criteria for buying a home and is actively watching the market for them.
While they appreciate our excitement and willingness to help, please refrain from sending them house options at this time.
Please keep your eye out for further updates as we become aware of other needs they may have.
We look forward to all the ways we will be able to help Brad and Barb as they make Taber their home in these next few months!
Please continue to pray for them in these specific things:
- For wisdom in the right choice for buying a house or renting in Taber.
- For the continued healing of Brad's eye and wisdom to know how to adjust to his vision situation including possible additional surgery.
- Pray for endurance for Brad during the busy week of PRBI graduation next week.
- For Barb as she spends her days packing up their house.
