Update from Pastor Brad
Greetings from the Alberta North! I see you're about to get one of those famous spring storms this week. Up here we'll probably only get a few centimetres ... we're so far north the snow doesn't even want to travel this far.
Things are moving along at high speed for us right now. PRBI is what we call "crunch time" - lots of big assignments and events all crunched into a few short weeks. We just hunker down and hang on for the ride. Then graduation is here before we can catch our breath.
We put our house on the market last week and had three viewings and a conditional offer within the day. So it looks like our house may already be sold (pending financial approval and inspection), which would be a huge blessing. We are not sure yet what we will do on the Taber end but we have been looking and going over a few possible scenarios.
Barb will quit her Educational Assistant job at Easter and become our full time unpaid Moving Manager. I will stay at PRBI unti May 10. Our plan, Lord willing, is to move before May 15 and begin at TEFC around June 1, Our son Justin will stay up here and direct David Thompson Bible Camp for the summer, but will likely move south in September. He'll either join us in Taber or his sister, Shalise, in Lethbridge. Shalise finishes her Therapeutic Recreation diploma at Lethbridge College this spring. She'll do a practicum in Lethbridge, then look for work for the rest of the summer before transferring to University of Lethbridge to pursue her Bachelor's degree.
If you're wondering about my eye, it is about 90% healed. I still have a small gas-bubble blindspot but it is shrinking by the week and should be gone soon. I passed my eye exam last Friday, so I'm cleared to drive again. I will need new glasses and those are on order. But overall things are moving in the right direction. Hopefully by summer I'm completely recovered. Thanks for your prayers.
I'm speaking in our college chapel this week about how God was always calling Abraham away from the cities and into the wilderness. He often calls us out of our comforts and into the place of total reliance on him before He leads us to the next place He has for us. I'm feeling a lot like Abraham these days. I realized that I've now lived in Sexsmith longer than any other place in my life. I guess that makes it my "city" and Taber "the promised land"?? Strained metaphor aside, we are trusting that God is leading in all of this, so we eagerly anticipate joining you very soon and taking our next wilderness adventure with you all.
God bless you this week.
