A Update from Pastor Brad
Well, our house has been officially declared a disaster zone - boxes and furniture and random stuff we haven't seen for years strewn everywhere. It's the storm before the calm. Barb's been doing a great job of packing up the house, but now we're at crunch time. What goes? What stays behind? Anybody remember what this bag of bolts is from? Exactly how much can you fit in a U-Haul? These are the deep philosophical questions that keep us up at night.
We are thankful that we have found a temporary home to rent in Barnwell, so we do have a place to go when we arrive. Thank you for your prayers. Because of my ongoing vision challenges, our son Justin will come with us as a driver and then we'll fly him back to GP so he can continue his summer work at the Bible camp up here. We still have lots of phone calls to make, addresses to change, and crews to coordinate, but we are just asking God each day for wisdom for the day.
I was encouraged this week in our PRBI staff prayer time by Numbers 14:6-9: "Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had explored the land, tore their clothes and said to the entire Israelite assembly, 'The land we passed through and explored is exceedingly good. If the Lord is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us. Only do not rebel against the Lord. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will devour them. Their protection is gone, but the Lord is with us. Do not be afraid of them.'”
No, we haven't ripped our clothes in two (yet) and no, we're not afraid of you (yet). But I felt God saying to me, "The land I am leading you to is exceedingly good. Do not rebel and do not be afraid. I am with you." Despite all the chaos of moving, we are trusting that God is bringing us to Taber for a good reason, and that He has good things planned for us and for you as we journey together.
We should arrive in Taber/Barnwell on May 15. Then we'll take a few weeks to settle in and breathe before officially joining you in June. Keep praying for God's wisdom and provision. through the transition.

To the TEFC Family
"Thank you TEF prayer group. Thanks to our Heavenly Father I am at peace, the peace that only the Father can give. I thank you with all my heart because God heard your faithful prayers and granted the rest in my heart and safe return to Canada from my trip to Mexico to say goodbye to my dear mom. Bless each one of you and the wonderful work you do in prayer, it is so powerful and I can attest to that. I am so grateful for your hard work in prayer. " -Martha David "Myself and my family would like to express our sincere gratitude for your daily prayers throughout my continued journey of my two cancer diagnosis. It truly has made my journey that much easier knowing we have so many people supporting me. Having the Lord on my side and knowing He is walking alongside me through this journey brings me peace and comfort. Thank you again, God Bless." -The Van Bavel Family: Christine, Alan, Tori & Nick (daughter of Wayne & Irene Speer) |
